About Us

Our Mission

The purpose of the Port Aransas Conservancy Fund is to educate the public and decision makers about the importance of preserving and protecting the environment, the economy and the culture that are unique to Port Aransas. By raising public awareness we will promote development solutions that have minimal impact on the sensitive marine environment that is unique to the Texas Coastal Bend. We will help underwrite community efforts along those lines.

Port Aransas Conservancy

The Port Aransas Conservancy Fund (PACF) and the Port Aransas Conservancy (PAC) are sister organizations. PAC is a 501(c)(4) organization; this enables them to advocate to legislators but contributions to PAC are not tax deductible.

Port Aransas Conservancy Fund

As of October 22, 2019 the Internal Revenue Service recognizes the Port Aransas Preservation Fund (PAPF)--renamed the Port Aransas Conservancy Fund (PACF)--as a 501(c)(3) public charity. Donors can deduct contributions they make to PAPF under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 170. PACF is also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522. We are a public charity under IRC Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi).

While we aspire to support other environmental non-profits in the Coastal Bend, unless otherwise instructed all donations to PACF will be redirected to the Port Aransas Conservancy to be used for purposes that are consistent with our remit. Any grants we make will be carefully monitored and we will not allow grant funds be used for political advocacy but rather to advance our shared environmental goals.

Is this donation tax deductible?

Yes (see above). The IRS classifies the Port Aransas Conservancy Fund as a 501(c)(3) public charity. All donations to it are tax deductible.
